Delhi: After A Cloudy Tuesday, IMD Predicts Light Rain On Wednesday

Due to calmer winds, a layer of hazy haze enveloped Delhi on Tuesday, with air quality deteriorating to the higher end of the "very poor" category.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday forecasted light rain or drizzle on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the high and low temperatures are expected to be about 30 and 17 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The maximum temperature in Delhi on Tuesday was 29.1 degrees Celsius, which is usual for this time of year, according to the meteorological service.

According to meteorological statistics, the city's maximum temperature on Monday was 33 degrees Celsius, the highest for the month of November since 2008.

Due to calmer winds, Delhi's air quality on Tuesday worsened to the upper end of the "very poor" category, shrouding the city in a veil of thick haze.

Due to unfavourable meteorological conditions, it is predicted that the air quality may deteriorate during the following two days.

The India Meteorological Department said that the day's minimum temperature had reached 17.2 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees more than the season's normal.

According to the IMD, the humidity levels fluctuated between 92 and 71 percent.

The AQI in the national capital was 326 on Monday, with persistent haze. The national capital areas' air quality was similarly categorised as very bad,' with an AQI of 356 in Noida and 364 in Gurugram.

In light of the poor air quality, Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has asked that anti-smog weapons be deployed at construction and demolition sites by the Delhi-NCR pollution control boards, reported news agency PTI.

While the Delhi government agreed to reopen primary classes on November 9 and revoke 50% of government employees' work-from-home privileges, it maintained a restriction on the use of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers in the national capital under stage 3 of the Graded Response Action Plan.
