Delhi Heatwave: Amid the sweltering heat in the national capital, a 40-year-old man died at Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia hospital on Wednesday. According to reports, the deceased man was a native of Darbhanga in Bihar. He was living in a room with no cooler or fan and was suffering with high fever.

According to the doctor, the body temperature of the victim crossed the 107 degrees Celsius mark, nearly 10 degrees above normal, as reported by NDTV. This is the first heat-stroke death reported in the national capital this summer season.

The deceased worked at a pipeline fittings factory in Delhi. According to the Hindustan Times, he was brought to the doctors on Monday night by his roommate and other factory workers.

The patient remained in the heatstroke unit of the hospital, as per the Indian Express report. "He was shifted to the ward on Wednesday morning. His condition suddenly deteriorated. He died around 3 pm," a doctor said.

Heatstroke occurs when the body is not able to control its temperature due to the failure of the sweating mechanism.

Water Crisis In Delhi

The national capital has been reeling under a severe heatwave for the past week. Besides the scorching heat, several parts of Delhi are also suffering due to a drinking water crisis. Due to the water crisis, people were seen facing problems in many areas of the national capital. Water is being supplied to the people through tankers.

A resident Vinay said, "Water tankers come everyday, but people do not get water as only half a tanker comes, whereas two tankers are required... Despite the scorching heat, there is no water in the houses. No one is listening to us."
