The senior AAP leader was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on October 4 over his alleged connection with the case.
During the arguments over the bail application, senior advocate Mohit Mathur, appearing for Sanjay Singh, told the judge that the ED had not summoned him for questioning even once before he was arrested. He further argued that there were contradictions in the statements of accused-turned-approver Dinesh Arora and the other witnesses.
Opposing the bail plea, the ED said the investigation in the matter was underway and if released on bail, Sanjay Singh could tamper with the evidence and influence the witnesses, news agency PTI reported.
The court had reserved its order on Sanjay Singh's bail plea on December 12.
Slamming the government, Delhi Minister Atishi said the “so-called” Delhi excise policy case is being probed for the last two years but not even a single penny has been recovered from the AAP leaders so far. She said her party leaders are being targeted because of the popularity of AAP and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Atishi said, “For the last two years, ED and CBI have been investigating the so-called liquor scam. But till now they haven't been able to recover even Rs 1 from any of the leaders of AAP. So why are arrests being made and summons being sent? This is because of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party's popularity.”
