'Delhi Becomes City With Highest Number Of eBuses': CM Kejriwal Flags Off 350 More Vehicles
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal hailed the milestone achievement, lauding Delhi's status as the first city in the nation to boast such a substantial fleet of electric buses.
New Delhi: In a move to combat pollution, Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Wednesday flagged off 350 more electric buses. The number of electric buses in the DTC fleet has risen to 1650, with the new induction.
While talking to reporters after the ceremony, Saxena said, "These buses will contribute in a huge way in combating pollution. I am hopeful that we will be able to stop the pollution with these steps", PTI quoted Saxena as saying.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal hailed the milestone achievement, lauding Delhi's status as the first city in the nation to boast such a substantial fleet of electric buses. Kejriwal highlighted the significance of this development in curbing pollution and reaffirmed the government's commitment to phasing out conventional CNG buses in favor of environmentally friendly alternatives, as per PTI.

Earlier, on Dec 14, the Delhi government flagged off 500 electric buses. On that occasion, Delhi CM Kejriwal remarked, "I am happy that 500 buses have been inducted. I want to congratulate the people of Delhi for this. I want to thank LG Vinai Kumar Saxena for gracing the occasion. Now we have 1,300 electric buses in Delhi", as per ANI.
