Nalanda Police said that the Chandi Police Station received an information on Wednesday morning about the presence of a corpse in a field near the road in Bahadurpur village.

In a shocking incident from Bihar, a body of a woman with multiple nails hammered into her feet has been found in the Nalanda district.

The incident occurred at Bahadurpur village under the jurisdiction of Chandi Police Station in the Nalanda district on Wednesday. The body was spotted by the local villagers who alerted the police authorities.

Police said that the Chandi Police Station received an information on Wednesday morning about the presence of a corpse in a field near the road in Bahadurpur village.

When the police reached the spot, they found 10 nails hammered into the feet of the woman, who is yet to be identified. The police recovered the body and sent it to Biharsharif Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

Hilsa DSP Sumit Kumar said that the victim was aged around 25-30 years and her feet had nails hammered into it, while there were ash marks on her neck.

"There were also needle marks on the right hand of the body. So far, the body has not been identified. The information has been sent to the district and the neighbouring districts. The police have registered a case and began the investigation," Kumar said.

Meanwhile, Suman Kumar, SHO of the Chandi Police Station, said that the investigation is underway to determine how the woman ended up on the roadside near the Bahadurpur village.

Police suspect that the woman might have been raped before the murder.

Following the incident, Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly attacked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and also raised the issue in the House.

He accused CM Nitish of failing to protect women in his home district. Tejashwi also uploaded a post on his social media platform X, saying: "Bihar ranks among the top states in crimes against women. The CM should be ashamed. If someone is not affected by this soul-stirring gruesome incident, that too in his home district, then he is not human."
