Shraddha Murder Case: Had No Idea About Body Parts In Fridge, Says Aftab's 'New Girlfriend'

As per the ANI report quoting police, Aftab was in touch with 15 to 20 girls through different dating apps and had come in contact with this woman also through one such app. 

Accused Aftab's new girlfriend said she had no idea about Shraddha's murder.

New Delhi: In a new development in the Shraddha Walkar murder case, accused Aftab Amin Poonawala’s recent girlfriend said that she had no idea about the grisly act carried out by Aftab and that she had no inkling about human parts being kept in a refrigerator when she visited Aftab’s house twice after the murder, reported news agency ANI. 

She also said that Aftab had gifted her a fancy artificial ring on October 12, which reportedly belonged to Shraddha. 

The ring was recovered from Aftab’s new partner, a psychiatrist, and her statement was recorded. 

According to a statement by the woman given to the police, this friend informed that she had come to Aftab's flat twice in the month of October, but she had no inkling of Shraddha's murder or about the presence of human body parts in the house. Aftab never looked scared, she said. She also informed that he often used to tell her about his Mumbai home, the report added. 

As per the ANI report quoting police, Aftab was in touch with 15 to 20 girls through different dating apps and had come in contact with this woman also through one such app. 

During the course of investigation, the police the police traced his Bumble app record and found out about a girl who had come in contact with Aftab through the app on May 30, about 12 days after Shraddha's murder. 

Aftab's psychiatrist friend said that his behaviour seemed normal, even very caring and she said that she never felt that his mental state was not ideal. She also informed that Aftab had a collection of different varieties of deodorants and perfumes and he often used to give her perfumes as gifts.

The woman said that Aftab used to smoke a lot of cigarettes and would roll his cigarettes himself but would also talk about giving up smoking soon. 

The report stated that the woman is undergoing counselling as she was found to be in a state of shock following the emergence of Shraddha’s murder details. 

Earlier in the day, Aftab who is in judicial custody confessed to have killed Shraddha during his polygraph test at the Forensic Science Laboratory. Currently lodged in Tihar jail, he is likely to undergo narco analysis tomorrow, December 1.
