Sahil's Family Knew He Married Nikki, Her Murder. 1 Delhi Cop Among Accused: Police — Top Points
Nikki Yadav Murder: Delhi police arrested main accused Sahil Gehlot's father and four others in the case on the charges of helping Sahil in 'conspiracy'.
Nikki Yadav Murder Case: Delhi police has arrested five more people after nabbing main accused Sahil Gehlot, including his father Virendra Singh on the charges of helping him in the conspiracy, reported ANI citing Delhi police crime branch. He has been booked u/s 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC.
Police say that Sahil Gahlot was interrogated during police custody remand.
He executed the plan and murdered Nikki and informed the other co-accused persons about it and then all of them went ahead with the marriage ceremony, said Special CP Crime Branch Ravinder Yadav, as quoted by ANI.

- According to the police, Sahil's father Virendra Singh knew that his son had allegedly murdered Nikki.
- Special CP Crime Branch Ravinder Yadav Police said, as quoted by ANI, all 5 co-accused (father, two cousins, Ashish & Naveen, two friends Amar and Lokesh) were thoroughly interrogated & arrested after verifying and ascertaining their roles. Naveen is a Constable in Delhi Police. Further Investigation is underway.
- Police sources told ANI that accused Sahil Gehlot and Nikki Yadav got married in a temple in Noida in Oct 2020. Sahil's family was unhappy with their marriage. Sahil's family fixed his wedding in Dec 2022 and hid the fact from the girl's family that Sahil had already married Nikki.
- Police have also recovered certificates related to Sahil and Nikki's marriage during the remand.
- Nikki Yadav's phone has also been recovered from accused Sahil, reported ANI.
- According to the crime branch sources, as mentioned in the ANI report, since morning the accused Sahil Gehlot is being thoroughly investigated and was also taken to Kashmere Gate where he killed Nikki in the car.
- Reportedly, the Police are also planning to take Sahil to Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar Railway Station where he had taken Nikki on the night of the murder to know the complete sequence and exact place and time of Nikki's murder.
- Nikki Yadav was with her boyfriend Sahil Gehlot on February 9 and they both roamed around for hours after which her partner killed her on the intervening night of February 9 and 10, revealed the accused, reported news agency ANI citing its sources.
- Sahil killed his girlfriend in a parking lot near Delhi’s Nigambodh Ghat between 8:30 and 9 am on February 10, the report added.
- The accused had deleted all the data including WhatsApp chats between them on Yadav’s phone, the report stated, adding that Delhi Police Crime Branch was examining CCTV footage of Uttam Nagar-Nizamuddin-Kashmere Gate.
- Police on Wednesday retrieved footage from a CCTV camera installed at Nikki Yadav's Uttam Nagar house and it showed the 23-year-old performing menial tasks, hours before she was killed allegedly by her boyfriend.
- The footage was from February 9, the day of her boyfriend Sahil Gehlot's engagement. Yadav allegedly called to meet Gehlot and expressed her displeasure at his decision to get married.
- The 23-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her 24-year-old boyfriend Sahil Gehlot who stuffed her body inside a refrigerator of his dhaba (eatery) in southwest Delhi and went off to marry another woman the same day, according to the police.
- The incident came to light on Valentine’s Day on February 14 and it was on the instance of the accused that Yadav's body was recovered on Tuesday morning from the refrigerator at the eatery, four days after the murder.
- The postmortem of Yadav's body went on for over two hours on Wednesday at Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital here, and according to the preliminary opinion of doctors, the cause of death was strangulation, police said.
