Days after the Minority Wing Chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Maharashtra unit, Sana Khan, went missing, the Jabalpur Police arrested her husband, Amit Sahu, for murdering her. Sahu confessed to the crime and was arrested along with one other person from the Ghora Bazar area in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur by Nagpur Police, as per NDTV. Sana, a Nagpur resident, went missing after her visit to Jabalpur. She was having disputes with her husband pertaining to financial transactions, NDTV reported.

According to the police, Sahu, who ran a roadside eatery near Jabalpur, had beaten Sana in his own house, after which she died, as reported by India Today. The accused was also engaged in Liquor smuggling, as per the report.

The police said that Sahu threw the victim’s body in the Hiran River, approximately 45 kilometres away from Jabalpur, as per an India Today report. After the revelation, the police launched a thorough investigation at the crime scene.

According to Sana's family, her last known location on August 1 was in Jabalpur, where she had gone to meet her husband, as per an NDTV report. She left Nagpur on a private bus and called her mother the next day after she reached Jabalpur. Shortly after calling her mother, Sana went missing.
