Acid Attack On Woman In Delhi, Son Also Injured. Police Suspect Personal Enmity As Motive
The woman was standing with her child and setting up shop in Guru Bazar when the incident took place.
New Delhi: Unidentified persons threw acid on a 36-year-old woman in Delhi’s Bharat Nagar area. The woman who was standing with her son when the incident occurred due to which splashes of acid also fell on the child, Delhi Police said.
According to news agency ANI, the police suspect an angle of personal enmity as the reason for the attack.
As per other inputs, both mother and child suffered minor injuries as a result of the attack.
The police received a complaint through a call, the woman said that she was in the Bharat Nagar area and setting up her shop in Guru Bazar when the miscreants attacked her. She said that the men walked towards them from the park and threw acid after which they scurried away.

The police said that after the woman had received treatment, she gave further information about the suspect. Currently, the police are on the lookout for the accused.
Last week, Delhi Police filed a chargesheet against e-commerce firm Flipkart and its delivery firm Instakart under the Poison Act for selling acid on its website. Acid bought from the website was used on a 17-year-old by three individuals in December 2022. One of the accused bought the acid and made the payment through an e-wallet.
While the accused are currently in judicial custody. The Delhi Police is relying on electronic and forensic evidence to collect more information on the matter. In the forensic report, the acid was found to be 'Nitric Acid'.
The Delhi Police has mentioned in the chargesheet that the accused also told them that they wanted to buy Nitric Acid, which proves the prosecution's (police) story.
After the incident, Delhi Police sent a notice to Flipkart and Instakart and asked them about compliance with regulations related to the sale of acid.
According to IANS sources, in their reply, they had accepted that it was sold without a proper licence.
