Shraddha Murder Case: Bones Found In Mehrauli Matches With Victim's Father

Shraddha Murder Case: DNA test revealed that the bone samples found from Mehrauli jungle matched with her father's DNA establishing that the bone samples were of Shraddha Walkar.

New Delhi: The Delhi Police found a new breakthrough in the Shraddha Walkar murder case as the bone samples found from Mehrauli jungle matched with her father's DNA, confirmed the Police on Thursday, reported news agency PTI. Shraddha Walkar's live-in partner, Aftab Amin Poonawala had killed her in May this year and cut her corpse into 35 pieces which he stacked in a refrigerator and would disposed them in Mehrauli jungle during midnight.

The case came into light last month after which the police receovered 13 bone pieces from the Mehrauli jungle which were later sent to Forensic Science Laboratory for DNA test.

"The police has received the DNA report of the bones found. The DNA of the bones matches with the DNA samples of Walkar's father," reported PTI quoting a police source as saying.

"Police have received DNA and polygraph test reports from Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL). These reports will help us in our investigation further," Sagar Preet Hooda, Special CP Law & Order, Delhi was quoted as saying by the news agency.

Currently lodged in Tihar jail, Aftab underwent polygraph last month and narco analysis earlier this month where he accpeted ti have killed his partner.

His answers were found to be matching exactly in the post narco analysis with the response he gave during the narco test.

Meanwhile, Vikas Walkar, Shraddha's father held a press conference this month where he demanded death sentence for the accused.

"Aftab Poonawala should be given capital punishment of hanging for killing my daughter. There should be stern action against Poonawala and whosoever was involved in the case," Walkar told reporters during the press conference held in Mumbai after he met Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
