Will Seat Sharing Become A Headache For NDA? Chirag Paswan Says LJP (RV) To Contest All Seats In Bihar Polls — Video
Ahead of Bihar's assembly election, Chirag Paswan announced his party will contest all 243 seats to strengthen the NDA, aiming for victory.

Months ahead of the assembly election in Bihar, Union Minister Chirag Paswan said on Sunday that his party will contest all the 243 seats in the state to strengthen the NDA alliance. He also added that his goal is that NDA moves towards victory.
"My party and I will contest on 243 seats in Bihar to strengthen the NDA alliance. My goal is that the NDA moves towards victory…,” Paswan said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
Amid the recent statement by the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader, Chirag, the seat sharing can be a challenge for the ruling NDA. A report in The Indian Express quoting sources claimed that Chirag Paswan's LJP(RV) has said that the party will claim seats where its candidates performed well and caused damage to Janata Dal (United) and other allies in 2020 polls.
According to the report, there are at least 38 seats out of the 243-member Bihar assembly where the NDA constituents could make competing claims.
The Lok Janshakti Party had ensured the victory of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led Mahagathbandhan by cutting the vote share of Nitish Kumar's JD(U) in at least 35 seats in the 2020 polls.
Out of the 38 seats, where NDA allies could make competing claims, Chirag's party managed to get more votes than JD(U) in 32 of these seats.
In the 2020 elections, the LJP (RV) contested polls on its own; however, it maintained the party's support for the BJP and reiterated differences with CM Nitish Kumar.
What Chirag Said About Rahul In Bihar Rally?
Paswan reacted to Rahul Gandhi’s recent statements on the election and said that the Congress MP has already accepted defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, which is why he is making such statements.
Paswan further said that if Rahul Gandhi needs to find faults in any institution, it should be his own party, Congress.
"... The problem with Congress and its leaders is that when introspection is needed, they look for excuses for losing elections... If Rahul Gandhi needs to find faults in any institution, it should not be a constitutional institution, but his own Congress party... Blaming the Election Commission, accusing someone of fixing elections, saying that the EVM is faulty, all this shows that Rahul Gandhi has already accepted defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections... After Bihar, these people will lose states like Assam and Bengal," Chirag Paswan told reporters.
