UP Woman Poisons Husband After Karwa Chauth Fast In Kaushambi, Arrested

Shailesh's brother, Akhilesh, said Shailesh was rushed to the hospital, where he recorded a video statement accusing Savita of poisoning his food. He later died during treatment.

A woman from Uttar Pradesh allegedly killed her husband by poisoning him after finishing a Karwa Chauth fast meant to pray for his life. Police from the Kada Dham station in Kaushambi district stated that Shailesh Kumar, 32, was poisoned by his wife, Savita, who suspected him of having an affair with another woman.

According to a report by NDTV, the officials said Savita had been fasting on Sunday as part of the Karwa Chauth ritual, while Shailesh was busy throughout the day making preparations for the occasion.

The couple reportedly argued while Savita was breaking her fast in the evening, but things seemed to come to normal after. They shared a meal together, after which Savita asked Shailesh to visit a neighbour’s house to get something and then fled.
