UPSIDA Unveils First Footwear Park In Kanpur To Strengthen MSMEs, Drive Economic Growth

UPSIDA is developing a 131.69-acre Footwear Park in Kanpur, featuring 75 industrial plots, warehouses, and a Common Facility Center. A flexible payment plan attracts investors through the Nivesh Mitra Portal.

The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) is developing the first dedicated Footwear Park on 131.69 acres in the Ramaipur area of Kanpur, marking a major milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s industrial journey. The park will feature 75 industrial plots spread over 83 acres, along with 2 warehouse plots across 5.46 acres.

The park will also house a state-of-the-art Common Facility Center (CFC) equipped with laboratories, design studios, packaging units, and training centers. These shared resources are expected to improve the production efficiency, enhance product quality, and elevate the global competitiveness of local businesses.

Flexible Payment Plan To Attract Investors

UPSIDA, in order to attract investors, has rolled out a flexible payment plan. Five percent of the land cost will be payable at the time of application. The 20 percent within 60 days of allotment. The possession of the plot will be granted on paying 25 percent of the total cost. The rest amount is to be paid in six half-yearly installments.

A Look At The Park

The park consists of 

▪️75 industrial plots in total 83 acres ▪️2 warehouse plots in 5.46 acres

▪️5 km long road network 

▪️10 km RCC-based storm water drainage 

▪️5 tonnes per day solid waste management capacity, cost ₹2 crore ▪️10 MLD water demand, met from an underground source 

▪️220 kv substation, 40 MW electrical load

How To Apply?

The entire application and allotment process has been made digital via the Nivesh Mitra Portal, ensuring transparency and ease for prospective investors.

UPSIDA Chief Executive Officer Mayur Maheshwari stated, "The proposed Footwear Park in Kanpur will strengthen local industries and create employment opportunities for thousands of youth. Under the MSME Policy 2022, incentives will empower entrepreneurs to become self-reliant and play a vital role in advancing Uttar Pradesh towards its goal of becoming a trillion-dollar economy."
