Commercial Building Collapses In Delhi's Rohini, 2 Feared Trapped: WATCH

A commercial building collapsed in the Sector 7 area of ​​Rohini, Delhi. Fire tenders sent to the spot. NDRF has also been informed about the building collapse.

A commercial building collapsed in Delhi's Rohini on Wednesday, leaving at least two people trapped under the rubble.

According to a Delhi Fire Service officer, five teams were pressed into service after they received a call regarding the building collapse in Sector 7, news agency PTI reported.

"We received a call at 4.04 pm. Our teams are working on the spot," the officer said.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also been informed about the building collapse, and is likely to join the rescue efforts, Delhi Fire Service said, as reported by ANI.

"A commercial building collapsed in the Sector 7 area of Rohini, Delhi. Fire tenders sent to the spot. NDRF also informed about the building collapse," said the Delhi Fire Service.

A senior police officer told PTI that the area has been cordoned off and multiple teams have been rushed to the spot.

"Multiple teams from various rescue agencies, including Delhi Police, fire department and NDRF, have reached the spot. We have cordoned off the area to prevent any untoward incident. The power department has turned off electricity supply in the area," the officer said.

The reason behind the collapse of the building is yet to be determined. The authorities are working to rescue those trapped and assess the damage.
