Storm Damages Roof At Delhi's New Ashok Nagar Rapid Rail Metro Station: Video
As a precautionary measure, operations have been paused at the New Ashok Nagar station, and will remain closed to the public until further notice. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Strong winds and dust storms swept several parts of Delhi-NCR on Saturday, causing damages to infrastructure and uprooting trees. At Delhi's New Ashok Nagar rapid rail metro station, a section of the steel roof was damaged due to a strong windstorm accompanied by heavy rainfall, according to an official statement by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).
As a precautionary measure, operations at the station, which is a part of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, have been paused, and will remain closed to the public until further notice, the corporation said, adding that safety remains their top priority.
The NRCTC issued an official statement confirming the incident and damage to the roof. It also said that no injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
"Due to an intense windstorm on Saturday, a portion of the tin roof at the New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat Station was damaged. As a precautionary measure, operations at the station were immediately stopped for the time being," the statement said.

The statement further noted that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the cause and extent of the damage caused by the sudden spell of severe weather.
NCRTC also stated that necessary corrective measures are being initiated to ensure such incidents from occuring in the future.
"Services will resume only after thorough inspection and necessary repairs are completed," NRCTC statement added.
Several areas in Delhi’s central, south, southwest, north zones and parts of the National Capital Region (NCR), including Noida, experienced rain, thunderstorms and dust storms on Saturday.
The IMD has also forecast a thunderstorm with rain for Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle around 42 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.
