Suspension Of 6 Congress MLAs Lifted In Rajasthan Assembly, CM Bhajanlal Says 'No One Needs To...'
On Thursday morning, when the House proceedings began at 11 a.m. without Congress members, protests erupted outside the Assembly.

The six-day deadlock in the Rajasthan Assembly finally came to an end on Thursday evening after Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma held discussions with Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The development came following an uproar by Congress MLAs after a BJP minister referred to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as "aapki dadi" seemingly mocking over Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, resulting in the suspension of six MLAs.
Both sides decided mutually to resume the proceedings of the House after CM Bhajanlal Sharma stated, “No one needs to apologise; I apologise to the entire House.” With this statement, the deadlock in the Assembly ended.
At the Speaker’s suggestion, Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg proposed to revoke the suspension of six legislators. The Speaker passed the motion, and the suspension of all six Congress MLAs was revoked. Following this, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie resumed his speech on the budget debate.
House Proceedings Without Oppositions
On Thursday morning, when the House proceedings began at 11 a.m. without Congress members, protests erupted outside the Assembly. For over an hour, Congress MLAs chanted slogans against the ruling party and the Speaker, waving placards with protest messages.
Their demonstration lasted for about an hour and 15 minutes before they set up a mock Assembly session on the street. Eventually, after an initiative by the ruling party, the standoff was resolved.
Congress MLA Ghanshyam Mehr was made the Speaker and seated on a plastic chair, while other Congress legislators sat on mattresses outside the Assembly gate. They conducted a parallel session, where MLAs took turns asking questions, and Ghanshyam Mehr, acting as Speaker, responded humorously.
When one legislator asked the Speaker why he seemed under pressure, Ghanshyam Mehr jokingly replied that he had aspired to be a minister but was forcibly made the Speaker, so pressure was inevitable.
