Shooting Spree In Delhi: Hypermarket, Car Workshop Shot At In Paschim Vihar & Dwarka By Men On Bike
Two firing incidents were reported in Delhi's Paschim Vihar and Dwarka on Wednesday where some men opened fire at a grocery store and a car workshop.
Two shooting incidents were reported in Delhi on Wednesday, with several rounds of shots fired outside a hypermarket in the city's Paschim Vihar area and at a motor vehicle workshop in Dwarka, the police said. These came within 48 hours of two similar firing incidents reported in Delhi’s Alipur and Nangloi where a property dealer’s office and a furniture shop were targeted, respectively, on Monday.
In both cases reported on Wednesday, three bike-borne men opened fire at business establishments. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incidents, with police reportedly suspecting the involvement of Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu gang behind the shooting.
In the first case reported around 2.23 pm, three unidentified men on a bike fired several rounds of shots at Raj Mandir Hypermarket at Guru Harkrishan Nagar in Paschim Vihar, police said. Seven to eight empty cartridge casings and broken glass pieces were found near the doors of the shop.

As per a report by Indian Express, the hypermarket owner had recently received extortion calls from Sangwan (32), a notorious criminal with links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Sangwan, who hails from Najafgarh, is believed to be operating from the United Kingdom. He is wanted in at least 18 cases linked to crimes like murder, attempt to murder, extortion and robbery and a few under the Arms Act in Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan.
Around two hours later at 4.14 pm, another firing was reported at a motor vehicle workshop in Dwarka's Chhawla area. Here also, three bike-born men opened fire at the establishment.
"A PCR call regarding firing was received at PS Chhawla at around 4.14 pm. On reaching the spot it was found that a motor workshop run by Joginder Singh at Durga Park, Dinpur, Najafgarh was visited by three bike-borne men, out of which one kept sitting on the bike on the road itself and other two entered the workshop and started firing on the parked car and five rounds were fired hitting on a car parked in the workshop. Investigation is underway," DCP (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said while talking about the incident.
The police are suspecting Kapil Sangwan of the Nandu gang behind both firing incidents.
Meanwhile, in the two incidents reported on Monday, the Delhi Crime Branch had on Tuesday arrested two members of the infamous Jitender Gogi gang, including a minor. As per Additional CP (Crime Branch) Sanjay Bhatia, during questioning, an accused revealed they were members of the Gogi gang and had carried out the shootings in Nangloi and Alipur as part of their extortion scheme.
