Bihar: BJP Leader Shot Dead By Bike-Borne Assailants In Patna, Police Probe On
Bihar News: A BJP leader from Patna was shot dead by unidentified assailants and a police probe is underway to ascertain the cause of the incident.
A Bharatiya Janata Party leader was shot dead in Bihar's Patna by two bike-borne assailants, said the police. The incident took place at around 10 pm on Tuesday in the city's Bajrangpuri area under the limits of Alamganj police station.
Both the assailants fled the scene after shooting dead Ajay Kumar while the cause of the incident is not known yet.
Upon receiving the information, Assistant Superintendent of Police (City) Sharath RS reached the spot and said that a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory had been called to the spot.
"Information was received from the Bajrangpuri area under Alamganj police station that a person named Ajay Kumar, who runs a shop, has been shot dead," said Superintendent of Police (East), Patna, Bharat Soni.

ASP city reached the spot immediately and CCTV footage from nearby areas is being scanned, he said.
Prima facie what we know is that two unidentified assailants came on a bike who were involved in the incident, said the SP, adding that an FSL team is visiting the spot in connection with the incident and important evidence is being collected.
Relatives of the deceased are also being interrogated to find out the cause behind the murder, Soni said.

Ajay Kumar, 50, got injured after being shot at, reported ABP News. Relatives of the victim came out after hearing gunshots and rushed him to Nalanda Medical College for treatment where he was declared dead by the doctors.
The dead body has been sent for post-mortem and the police are collecting CCTV footage from nearby areas.
