Palghar Horror: Man Kills Wife, Beheads Her, Stuffs Skull In Travel Bag
A 49-year-old man, Harish Hippargi, was arrested for murdering his wife, Utpala, and disposing of her remains in different locations.

A 49-year-old man has been arrested from Palghar for allegedly murdering his wife, beheading her, and disposing of her remains in separate locations. According to news agency PTI, the crime came to light two months after the incident when a skull was found inside a travel bag in Virar.
According to the report, the accused, named Harish Hippargi, was arrested from Nalasopara East, on the outskirts of Mumbai, after investigators traced crucial evidence linking him to the murder.
Hippargi, who worked in the imitation jewellery industry, lived with his wife and a 22-year-old son. Disputes took place frequently between the couple, mostly over Utpala’s son from a previous marriage.
During such an altercation on January 8, Hippargi strangled Utpala to death. He transported her body to Virar East in order to cover up the crime. According to the police, the torso of the victim was dumped in a drain while the severed head was stuffed into a travel bag and abandoned near Pirkunda Dargah.
The probe body was found. Pouch from a jewellery store in Bengal’s 24 Parganas district that led them to Utpala’s name in the customer records. On further investigation, police found that Utpala's phone had been switched off for two months.
Also, Hippargi too had gone into hiding. Police, after multiple leads, tracked him down to Rahmat Nagar in Nalasopara and arrested him late Friday night. Now, the police have started searching the torso of the accused Utpala. The investigation by the police in this case continues.
