New Year 2025: Check Mumbai Police Traffic Advisory Before Heading Out To Celebrate

The Mumbai Police are implementing traffic regulations from 3 pm on Tuesday to 6 am on Wednesday for New Year celebrations.

The Mumbai Police have issued a traffic advisory ahead of the New Year 2025 celebration in the city. Certain traffic regulations would be implemented from 3 pm on Tuesday till 6 am on Wednesday, as per the police advisory. 

Emergency vehicles like fire brigade, police, and ambulances will be exempted from these regulations, as per a report by Mid-Day. 

No parking facilities under the Colaba and Marine Drive Traffic Division will be available, said the police, requesting people to use public transport especially trains and local trains. 

Mumbai Coastal Road will remain open between 11 pm on Sunday and 11 pm on Monday for vehicular traffic. 

According to the advisory following roads will remain closed

  • Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg from the junction of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk (Regal Junction) towards Gateway of India up to The Bombay Presidency Club (Radio Club). Commuters can take an alternative route from Shahid Bhagat Sing Marg to Mahakavi Bhushan Marg and Boman Behram Road to proceed towards the destination. 
  • Adam Street (Electric Pole No.AS-5) between Boman Behram Road junction and Mahakavi Bhushan Marg junction. Alternative route: From Mahakavi Bhushan Marg to Boman Behram Road then on to K. S. Dhariya Chowk (Best Junction). Take a right turn to proceed to the desired destination via Shahid Bhagat Sing Marg.
  • P. Ramchandani Marg from Bombay Presidency Club (Radio Club) to Adam Street junction. Commuters can alternatively take the  Bombay Presidency Club (Radio Club) Haji Niyaz Azmi Marg Bhid Bhanjan Mandir right turn via Shahid Bhagat Sing Marg. 
  • N.S Road North Bound from N.C.P.A, Girguam Chowapatty. Alternative route: Ramnath Poddar Chowk ( Godrej Junction) - Right turn by Maharshi Karve- Road Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction) - Marine Lines-Charni Road-Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House) 
    - Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Junction - left turn via Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil - CTO Junction.
    - Metro junction Shamaldas Gandhi Marg- Princess Street Bridge- Coastal Road
  • N. S Road (South Bound) from Bhara Tambe Chowk (Band Stand) to NCPA/Hutatma Rajguru Chowk (Mantralaya Junction).
  • Both-way traffic on Veer Nariman Road between Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction) and Kilachand Chowk.
  • Northbound from Sakhar Bhavan Junction to NS Road on Barrister Rajni Patel Marg. 

Meanwhile, all types of parking will be prohibited on these roads from 3 pm on Sunday till 6 am on Wednesday.

  • Ramnath Goenka Marg
  • Dinshaw Vacha Road
  • Veer Nariman Road
  • Maharshi Karve Road
  • Vinay K Shah Road
  • Mahatma Gandhi Road.
