Curfew Continues In Parts Of Nagpur Week After Violence Over Aurangzeb's Tomb
Nagpur remains under partial curfew after violent protests over the removal of Aurangzeb's tomb.

Curfew continued in some parts of Nagpur on Sunday which was hit by large-scale stone pelting and arson earlier this week over the removal of the tomb of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb.
The situation turned violent when rumours were spread that a 'chadar' with verses from the Quran was burnt during a protest by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Monday demanding the removal of the tomb in Sambhaji Nagar.
Curfew was imposed in the city to maintain law and order which was gradually lifted but remains in force in some parts.

Ganeshpeth, Tahsil, Kotwali, and Yashodhara Nagar are the four areas police station areas where the curfew is still in place for consecutive seventh day. The restrictions are relaxed for three hours, from 7 pm to 10 pm after which traffic is completely prohibited in these areas.
All the markets and government and private establishments have been ordered to remain closed in the areas under curfew by the Nagpur Police Commissioner.
Those violation curfew norms will face action under section 223 (disobeying orders from public servant) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, said an official. "Essential services, government employees, and students appearing for exams are exempted," he added.
Meanwhile, the restrictions have been completely lifted from areas under five police stations, apart from two police stations earlier including Pachpaoli, Shantinagar, Lakadganj, Sakkardara, and Imamwara.
