Mumbai and other Konkan districts are under an orange alert for heavy showers, with possible disruptions. Nashik and Satara ghats also face similar warnings, urging public vigilance and caution.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for parts of Maharashtra, warning of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall on July 26, particularly in Palghar, the ghat areas of Pune, and the Konkan region, including Mumbai.
Red Alert for Palghar and Pune Ghats
Palghar district is under a red alert, with the IMD predicting intense rainfall that may cause flooding and traffic disruptions. The ghat regions of Pune, including Lonavala and Tamhini Ghat, are also on red alert due to the risk of landslides and road blockages triggered by heavy rain.
Heavy Rain Likely in Mumbai, Konkan Districts
An orange alert has been issued for several districts in the Konkan belt, including Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg, indicating the likelihood of heavy to very heavy showers in isolated areas.
Mumbai has already witnessed intermittent rainfall over the past few days, leading to waterlogging in many parts of the city. Additional downpours on July 26 could further disrupt daily life and transport.
Nashik, Satara Ghats Also on Alert
The ghat areas of Nashik and Satara are also under an orange alert, with similar warnings of heavy rainfall. Travellers have been urged to avoid non-essential movement and remain cautious.
Public Urged to Remain Vigilant
The IMD has advised residents to stay updated on weather alerts and follow all directives from local authorities. Those in low-lying areas should be especially cautious and shift to safer locations if needed.
