Swarm Of Bees Attack Jyotiraditya Scindia's Event In Shivpuri, Several Injured: Watch

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia's event in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, was disrupted by a swarm of bees.

A function in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district which was attended by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia was disrupted after a swarm of bees attacked the event prompting officials to evacuate the Union minister.

People around Scindia formed a cordon and used handkerchiefs and towels to provide cover and safely evacuate him from the venue.

Videos of the impromptu rescue act at Chandpatha Lake in Madhav National Park are being widely shared on social media.

The attack took place on Saturday at 3:30 pm when the Union civil aviation minister and Lok Sabha MP from Guna was scheduled to inaugurate a weed harvester machine, reported PTI.

Scindia's security personnel immediately took action forming a cordon around him. They used handkerchiefs and towels to provide cover to the Union minister from bees, said Kotwali police station official Kripal Singh, who was among the injured in the incident.

Some people were injured in the attack, which might have been caused due to bees getting disturbed by drones being flown for security purposes and photography, eyewitnesses said.

The Union minister was accompanied by state energy minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Shivpuri MLA Devendra Jain and other leaders when the incident took place.

Scindia returned without inaugurating the weed harvester machine, as per eyewitnesses.

In a similar incident in Odisha, more than 25 people including students were injured during Vigyan Mela (science fair) when a hive of bees was inadvertently disturbed in Kendrapara district.

According to an Odisha TV report, the hive situated about 200 metres away from Pattamundai High School was accidentally agitated, prompting a swarm of bees to attack the event injuring students, teachers, and guardians present at the event.

Panic ensued as people affected by the attack fled in search of safety. Community members and parents promptly came to the rescue of the students in the wake of the commotion. The injured people were transported to Pattamundai sub-divisional hospital for treatment.
