Meerut: Class 11 Student Bludgeons Friend To Death For Stealing His Private Photos With Girlfriend
Meerut: A 17-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by his friend after he allegedly transferred private photos and videos of the accused with his girlfriend onto his phone without permission.
In Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district, a Class 11 student was allegedly abducted and killed by his minor friend over a dispute involving private photos and videos. The accused, also a minor, has been detained, according to police.
According to news agency PTI, Kankarkheda Station House Officer (SHO) Vinay Kumar Singh informed that the 17-year-old victim, a resident of Rohta Road, left for his coaching classes on Saturday but did not return. The family, concerned for his safety, attempted to contact him only to find his phone switched off. Upon visiting the coaching centre, they discovered it was closed and subsequently filed a missing person report.
Police questioned the victim's minor friend, who initially provided misleading information. However, during further interrogation, he confessed to the crime and led the police to the victim's body, as per PTI. The body was recovered near a tube well behind Garh Marg, close to a college in Bhavanpur.

Meerut Murder: Accused Confessed To Murder Over Transfer Of Personal Photos Without Permission, Police Say
India Today, citing police, reported that the victim had allegedly transferred private photos and videos of the accused with his girlfriend onto his phone without permission, leading to the accused's rage.
"The accused admitted to the crime and disclosed that his friend had taken personal photos from his phone without permission. This led to a heated situation, culminating in a premeditated murder. The accused is a minor and is currently in custody. Further investigation is ongoing to determine if others were involved," Meerut Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram said, as quoted by India Today's report.
The accused invited the victim to a secluded spot under the guise of selling his phone. After spending some time eating together, the accused struck the victim on the head with a hammer, killing him instantly, according to the report.
PTI reported that a hammer suspected to be the murder weapon was recovered from the crime scene, along with the victim's two-wheeler, an ATM card, and Rs 4,400 in cash.
The deceased was preparing for IIT and was the only son of his family. His body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the accused in police custody will be presented before a juvenile court.
