Meerut Murder: MP Arun Govil Gifts Ramayana To Accused Sahil And Muskan

Meerut MP Arun Govil has pledged to distribute 11 lakhs copies of the Ramayana and has launched the Ghar-Ghar Ramayan (Ramayana for Every Home) campaign.

Meerut Lok Sabha MP Arun Govil, who is on a campaign to distribute copies of the Ramayana to households, has also given copies of the Ramayana to Sahil and Muskan, who are imprisoned in connection with the merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput murder case.

Arun Govil, who played the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, is now a Member of Parliament from Meerut. He has pledged to distribute 11 lakhs copies of the Ramayana and has launched the Ghar-Ghar Ramayan (Ramayana for Every Home) campaign. As part of this initiative, he also visited the Meerut District Jail, where he distributed copies of the Ramayana to several inmates. During his visit, he encountered Sahil and Muskan and handed them a copy as well.

The BJP MP stated that both of them became emotional upon receiving the Ramayana. "Both had sorrowful expressions. Neither did I speak to them, nor did they say a word to me," he said. Govil urged the inmates to pledge that they would never commit acts that would land them in jail again. He distributed around 1,500 copies of the Ramayana to inmates and prison officials.

Eight-Year Report Card Of Yogi Government

In order to highlight the major achievements of the Yogi government, several ministers and MLAs from the BJP participated. Now, MP Arun Govil has also stepped forward to take the government's accomplishments to the masses. He launched his campaign from Sadar Bazaar in Meerut, where he distributed books and pamphlets detailing the Yogi government's major achievements to traders.

He told traders that Uttar Pradesh has transformed under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership. "Now, development is happening at a rapid pace, as if a river of progress is flowing," he said. He also remarked, "I give the Yogi government a full 100 out of 100 marks." Traders warmly welcomed Govil, and he was accompanied by BJP city president Vivek Rastogi and other party leaders.

Arun Govil Takes Jibe At SP Leader Akhilesh Yadav

When asked about Akhilesh Yadav’s jibe at the Yogi government’s eight-year performance, Arun Govil burst into laughter before responding. He said, "Akhilesh Yadav is an intelligent leader, but he often makes senseless statements—perhaps that’s his specialty."

He further stated, "Akhilesh Babu and the opposition have only one job—to criticise the government and its work. The government has significant achievements, and the public can see them, but Akhilesh Yadav perhaps fails to understand them."

Arun Govil also expressed his displeasure and sorrow over a Samajwadi Party MP's comments about Rana Sanga. He lamented that the standards of political discourse are deteriorating, saying, "People are not being mindful of their language, and civility is being left behind. It is truly saddening to see where we are heading."

Regarding the glorification of Aurangzeb, he remarked, "It seems like the sole objective is to create an uproar, without any real thought behind it. Language should be dignified, and people should think carefully before speaking."
