Maharashtra Man Sets Wife Ablaze For Giving Birth To Third Daughter, Arrested
The victim's sister has submitted a complaint against Kale to the Mumbai Police, accusing the man of taunting his wife over giving birth to three daughters.
A man in Maharashtra allegedly set his wife on fire after dousing petrol on her in Parbhani district, a police official said on Saturday. It is being said that the man did this as his wife had given birth to their third daughter. He was later arrested by the police.
The 32-year-old accused, Kundlik Uttam Kale, killed his wife Maina in Gangakhed Naka, which is located around 520 kilometres from Mumbai. The incident took place on Thursday night, news agency PTI reported.
The victim's sister has submitted a complaint against Kale to the Mumbai Police. In the complaint, she has accused him of taunting Maina over giving birth to three daughters. It also states that the man would frequently pick up fights with the victim over this matter.
According to the police official, Maina had ran out of the house after Kale set her ablaze. After the neighbours heard her screaming they rushed to douse the fire. However, she had sustained severe burns by then and died while being taken to a hospital.
The Gangakhed police station official told PTI that Kale has been arrested for murder.
Surat Man Kills Wife, Minor Son Over Domestic Issue
A man from Surat allegedly stabbed his wife and four-year-old son to death over a domestic issue on Friday. He even attacked his parents and attempted to end his own life usinga knife, police said.
The man, Smit Jivani, was reportedly disturbed after his uncle's family had cut off ties with his family and asked him not to visit their house, Deputy Superintendent of Police Vipul Patel told PTI.
While his wife and son died in the attack, the man and his parents sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city.
"We have found that Jivani was mentally disturbed after the family of his deceased uncle snapped ties and asked him and his family not to visit their house," the DSP said, adding that a probe will be conducted to know the exact reason behind the incident.
