Jhansi: Constable And Sub-Inspector Brawl At SSP Office, Cops Forced To Intervene – Caught On Camera

Jhansi News: A sub-inspector and constable fought at the SSP office, prompting other cops to intervene to stop their scuffle. A video of the incident has surfaced on social media.

A physical altercation occurred between a sub-inspector and a constable at the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) office in Jhansi in full view of other police staff who intervened to separate them.

Jhansi News: A violent altercation broke out between a sub-inspector and a constable at the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) office in Jhansi on Monday. The incident occurred after a heated argument escalated into a physical confrontation, with both officers hurling insults at each other before exchanging blows. 

According to local inputs, the dispute is believed to have stemmed from allegations of corruption related to an investigation, with both officers accusing each other of serious wrongdoing. The sub-inspector, Sandeep Yadav, is posted in Jhansi Dehat (rural area), while the constable, Anuj Kumar, works at the SSP office.

The altercation was also over the transfer of the sub-inspector's wife, a female constable, from a rural to an urban posting. 

The confrontation took place in full view of other police staff, who rushed to intervene and separate the two officers. The fight occurred outside the SSP office complex, attracting the attention of the staff, who managed to separate the two officers. The sub-inspector, currently posted at the Mahoba GRP (Government Railway Police), was in plain clothes, while the constable was in uniform.

In the wake of the incident, disciplinary action has been ordered against both officers by the SSP, given the breach of conduct witnessed in a police office.

Circle Officer Sadar Sneha Tiwari confirmed the altercation between Sub-Inspector Sandeep Yadav and Constable Anuj Kumar. "A dispute had occurred between a sub-inspector and a constable at the SSP office. The dispute involved Sub-Inspector Sandeep Yadav and Constable Anuj Kumar. Both officers are neighbours in the police colony and are already familiar with each other."

She stated the dispute over the posting of Sub-Inspector's wife as a cause for friction between the two, highlighting that the official was seeking her wife's transfer to an urban posting against the rules.

She further stated that a separate report would be sent to the SP GRP (Government Railway Police) in Jhansi regarding disciplinary action against Sub-Inspector Sandeep Yadav for breaking discipline and tarnishing the image of the police force. The process of departmental action against Constable Anuj Kumar, stationed at the SSP office, has also been initiated.
