IMD Predicts Heatwave In Rajasthan Until April 18, Maharashtra To Stay Hot And Humid For Next 4 Days
The IMD has not predicted any heatwave conditions for Delhi until April 22, however, mercury is likely to touch 41 degrees Celsius during this period.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Thursday that heatwave conditions are likely to remain over parts of Rajasthan on Friday (April 18), while hot and humid weather is expected across sections of Maharashtra through April 21.
There will be no major shift in maximum temperatures in Gujarat over the next 24 hours, but a gradual increase of 2-4 Degrees Celsius is anticipated over the following three days. Maharashtra, on the other hand, is not expected to see any significant change in maximum temperatures for the next seven days.
Meanwhile, the IMD has not forecast any heatwave conditions for Delhi until April 22, however, mercury is likely to touch 41 degrees Celsius during this period.
IMD Predicts Rainfall Across Different Regions
Additionally, the IMD has forecast heavy rain or snowfall at isolated locations across Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Assam & Meghalaya, and the northeastern states on April 18.
Scattered to isolated rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is also likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, and Karnataka till April 20.
Fairly widespread showers are expected in Kerala and Mahe through April 19.
Moderate rainfall, ranging from scattered to fairly widespread, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, is expected over parts of Northeast and East India until April 20, and across the plains of Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh until April 18.
The IMD has also indicated that a strong Western Disturbance is set to impact the Western Himalayan Region through April 20.
As a result, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph, along with isolated hailstorms, are likely over the Western Himalayas on April 18 and 19.
Additionally, isolated heavy rain is forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh on April 18 and 19. Light rainfall may also occur over adjoining northwestern plains during the weekend.
