31 Injured In Himachal After Kasol-Bound Tourist Bus Overturns Near Mandi
A tourist bus overturned near Mandi on the Chandigarh-Manali highway at 4 am Sunday, injuring 31 people. Two are said to be in critical condition.

After a tourist bus overturned, 31 people were injured in the early hours of Sunday. The incident occurred near Mandi at 4 am while traveling along the Chandigarh-Manali highway. The bus was travelling to Kasol in the Parvati Valley of the Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh.
According to ANI, a total of 31 individuals, including the driver and conductor, sustained injuries in the accident. Among them, two are in critical condition and were immediately taken to Nerchowk Medical College for advanced medical treatment.

Six others suffered serious injuries, while the remaining passengers sustained minor injuries.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it is suggested that overspeeding may have been the primary cause of the accident.

In a separate incident, at least two women were killed, and 15 others were injured after a bus overturned in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, on Saturday. The accident occurred when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, according to the Hindustan Times report.
As per the report, the bus belonged to the Government Degree College, Handwara. It had 27 students on board when the accident occurred in the Vadipora area.
The 15 injured students have been admitted to Government Medical College, Handwara, where doctors have reported that their condition is stable.
The Jammu and Kashmir government ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident and announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 1 lakh for the families of each of the deceased.
J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah expressed his condolences. “The loss of two young promising students from GDC Sogam, in the tragic accident near Handwara is a tragedy that weighs heavily on all of us. My deepest condolences to their families in this hour of grief. Prayers for the swift recovery of the injured,” Omar wrote on X.
