Who Are The Ministers In New Haryana Cabinet & How Caste Played A Role

Haryana can have a maximum of 14 ministers, including the chief minister. This is the list of 13 ministers who took oath today.

The BJP formed government in Haryana after logging a stunning victory by winning 48 out of 90 seats, its biggest-ever tally in the state elections. Nayab Singh Saini, who was the chief minister face of the party, took oath for the second consecutive term on Thursday.

Before taking oath, Saini visited the Valmiki Bhawan and offered prayers at a gurdwara and the Mansa Devi temple in Panchkula. Along with him, 13 ministers also took the oath of office at a grand ceremony held in Panchkula. Haryana can have a maximum of 14 ministers, including the chief minister. The 13 ministers are:

Anil Vij: A seven-time MLA, Vij won the election from Ambala Cantt. He has held Home and Health portfolios in the Khattar government.

Krishan Lal Panwar: He won from Israna. Panwar has served in the Khattar government.

Rao Narbir Singh: He is the sitting MLA from Badshahpur.

Mahipal Dhanda: The Jat leader is MLA from Panipat Rural.

Vipul Goel: He is MLA from Faridabad .

Arvind Kumar Sharma: He is BJP's Brahmin face and Gohana MLA.

Shruti Choudhry: MLA from Tosham and daughter of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Kiran Chaudhary.

Shyam Singh Rana:  The Rajput leader is an MLA from Radaur.

Ranbir Singh Gangwa: The two-time MLA comes from the OBC community

Krishan Bedi: He is an MLA from Narwana.

Gaurav Gautam: The MLA from Palwal comes from the Brahmin community.

Arti Singh Rao: The daughter of BJP leader and Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh comes from the Ahir community.

Rajesh Nagar: He is MLA from Tigaon and comes from the Gujjar community.

This government has two women ministers this time. Only one woman minister has been in the Cabinet at a time during the ten-year rule of BJP in Haryana. As many as 13 women, including five from the BJP, were elected this time as against nine in 2019. Saini, who was made the CM in March 2024 before the Lok Sabha elections, won the Ladwa seat in the Kurukshetra district.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah among other senior BJP leaders. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Saini. Ministers of Saini's cabinet, including BJP leaders Anil Vij, Vipul Goyal, Mahipal Dhandha and Krishan Lal Panwar, were also sworn in at the ceremony.
