The fire brigade received a call about the blaze at 12.17 am. The fire broke out in the sauna room, which was located on the second floor of the building.

A fire broke out in a sauna room at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Delhi's Dwarka in the early hours of Sunday. There were no reports of casualties, and the fire has been doused. The sauna room was located on the second floor of the building.

The fire brigade received a call about the blaze at 12.17 am. "We received a call that a fire has broken out in Hotel Radisson Blu. When we came here, a fire was observed in the sauna room on the second floor. The fire has been extinguished now. No casualties have been reported," ADO Ravi Nath said.

Sadar Bazaar Fire

The incident comes a day after a massive fire broke out in a multi-storey building housing several shops in Delhi’s bustling Sadar Bazaar. According to officials, the blaze started on the first floor and quickly spread through the structure.

A senior official from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) confirmed that one firefighter sustained injuries while trying to control the flames.

"A fire operator sustained injuries during the firefighting operation and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by police. No other injuries have been reported as all occupants had safely exited the building," the official stated.

No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

27 Fire Tenders Deployed

What began as a medium-scale fire response soon turned into a full-fledged firefighting operation. Initially, 12 fire tenders were dispatched to the scene. However, as the fire intensified, an additional 15 fire tenders were deployed, taking the total count to 27 vehicles.

The Delhi Fire Services managed to bring the blaze under control by 5:55 pm, after several hours of rigorous efforts. The extent of damage to the shops and building structure is yet to be fully assessed.

The exact reason behind the fire remains unclear. “The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Further investigation is underway,” the official added.

The incident caused panic in the busy market area, known for its dense concentration of wholesale shops and narrow lanes, which made firefighting efforts more challenging.
