Delhi Rain Update: IMD Forecasts Rain With Gusty Winds In National Capital In Next Two Hours
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain and strong winds, reaching speeds of up to 60 km/h, will hit Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) within the next two hours today.

The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by gusty winds up to 60 km/h over the next two hours in Delhi-NCR today. Earlier, the weather body also forecast thunderstorms and strong winds reaching speeds up to 70 kilometres per hour.
“There are chances of some very light to light rain now. On Thursday, similar rain activity is expected, with the intensity even higher on Friday,” an IMD official said.
An orange alert has been issued for most parts of the National Capital Region, and a yellow alert has been sounded for areas in the northwestern and southwestern parts of the NCR.
IMD Predicts Cloudy Skies On Friday
According to the IMD, Delhi is expected to see partly cloudy skies on Friday, with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall. There is also a chance of thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds, which may reach speeds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour. The weather body has also issued orange alert for Friday and has advised residents to remain alert and be prepared for potential weather disruptions.
As per IMD classifications, a Yellow Alert indicates slight changes in the weather, while an Orange Alert signifies potentially impactful weather conditions that may disrupt normal life.
Delhi’s air quality has been recorded in the “moderate” category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 151 as of 4 PM on Wednesday.
