Construction Of Ambitious Noida International Film City Project Likely To Begin By June

Construction of Yogi Adityanath's ambitious 1,000-acre International Film City in Uttar Pradesh, developed by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP, is set to begin in late May/early June.

The construction of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ambitious International Film City project is expected to commence by the end of May or early June, with groundwork nearing completion in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region.

Spread across 1,000 acres in Sector-21 along the Yamuna Expressway, the project aims to position Uttar Pradesh as a premier destination for film production, media, and tourism. The first phase, covering 230 acres, will be executed at an estimated cost of ₹1,510 crore.

The project is being developed by Bayview Projects LLP, a company promoted by filmmaker Boney Kapoor. According to Rajeev Arora, General Manager of Bayview Projects LLP, most preparatory work has been completed. A geo-technical survey is nearly finished, and the building plan is set to be submitted within the next few days.

“Construction of the International Film City will officially begin as soon as the building plan is approved,” Arora said, adding, “We will build a film city that fulfils Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s dream.” He also noted that the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone, and efforts are underway to finalise the date through the Chief Minister’s Office.

Currently, land levelling is in progress, with supporting infrastructure such as roads and site cleaning also nearing completion. Once all necessary approvals are granted, the foundation stone will be laid by CM Adityanath, marking the formal commencement of construction.

YEIDA officials have said they are prepared to expedite the project in line with the Chief Minister’s directive. All processes, including land acquisition and compensation to farmers, are being carried out transparently to avoid delays.

As per official records, the master plan for the Film City was approved on 30 January 2025. The concession agreement was signed between YEIDA and Boney Kapoor’s company on 27 June 2024. The right of way for the site was officially handed over on 27 February 2025.

Bayview Projects LLP was selected as the top bidder for the project by offering the highest gross revenue share of 18%, and was issued the Letter of Award last year.

In Phase 1, the company plans to build 13 to 14 modern sound stages and a film institute over approximately 3 lakh square metres. The entire project is planned to be completed in three phases over eight years. The remaining 770 acres will be developed in subsequent phases.
