A 15-year-old boy lost his life after a fake doctor allegedly performed an operation based on YouTube videos to remove a stone from his gall bladder in Saran district of Bihar.
As the health of the teenager deteriorated, the 'doctor' arranged for an ambulance to take him to a hospital in Patna. However, the boy died en route and the 'doctor' along with others accompanying him abandoned the body at the hospital and fled, according to the teenager's family.

As per the NDTV report, the family of the identified individual, Krishna Kumar explained that they initially took him to Ganpati Hospital in Saran after he experienced repeated vomiting. "We admitted him, and the vomiting soon stopped," said Chandan Shaw. "But Dr. Ajit Kumar Puri insisted he needed surgery. He performed the operation by watching YouTube videos, and my son later died."
The family members expressed doubts about whether the 'doctor' had proper qualifications. "We believe he was self-appointed and fake," they said.
Doctor Performs Surgery Without Parent's Approval
The teenager's grandfather, Prahlad Prasad Shaw, shared that the boy's condition had improved after the vomiting ceased. "But the doctor sent the father away on an errand and started operating on the boy without the family's consent. The boy was in pain. When we asked the doctor why he was in pain, he snapped at us and asked if we were doctors. Later in the evening, the boy stopped breathing. He was revived (with CPR) and then rushed to Patna. He died on the way. They left the boy's body on the stairs of the hospital and fled," said Krishna Kumar's grandfather said.
When asked why they brought the boy to Dr. Ajit Kumar Puri despite being unsure of his credentials, the family replied, "We just wanted the vomiting to stop, but he performed the surgery without our approval." The police have filed an FIR and sent the body for an autopsy. Efforts are underway to locate the self-styled doctor and the staff at Ganpati Seva Sadan.
Meanwhile, parents who were admitted to the nursing home have been left unattended as the staff has disappeared.
