Lalu Prasad Yadav Quizzed By ED In Land-For-Jobs Scam

On March 19, Lalu Prasad Yadav appeared before the Enforcement Directorate for questioning in connection with its probe into land-for-jobs scam. Yadav arrived for questioning a day after his wife Rabri Devi and elder son Tej Pratap Yadav were grilled by the agency for almost four hours.

The scam pertains to the alleged transfer of land at cheap rates to the RJD chief, his wife, and his sons and daughters for appointments in Group D jobs in the central railways. It dates back to the time when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Union Railway Minister between 2004-2009.

Tejashwi Calls Waqf Bill 'Unconstitutional'

Commenting on the Waqf Amendment Bill, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav termed it 'unconstitutional'. He said, as quoted by ANI, "This is an unconstitutional Bill. We are people who believe in the Constitution. People of BJP want to impose 'Nagpur ka kanoon'; that is not at all acceptable to us. We believe in 'Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb', the diversity of our country is the beauty of it. From the beginning, we have opposed the Bill in both Houses of Parliament as well as the Bihar Legislative Assembly or Bihar Legislative Council. We will oppose it even in the time to come. Such a Bill will never be acceptable to us. Despite his health condition, Lalu ji joined the protest. So, we are clear that we will never accept the Bill."
