Bangalore Weather: A low-pressure system is forming over the southeastern Bay of Bengal causing unstable weather conditions in Bengaluru.

Bangalore Weather: Bengaluru residents are in for a wet week as India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rains to continue across the city. A 'yellow alert' has been issued for Bengaluru and several other districts in Karnataka urging residents to exercise caution over the next few days.

Over the past 24 hours, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 25.4°C and a minimum of 20.7°C, with 3.3 mm of rainfall.

The ongoing rain has caused challenges for commuters in Bengaluru with traffic jams reported across the city. Many vehicle riders and pedestrians struggled to navigate waterlogged roads while school students faced difficulties due to the downpour, as reported by IANS.

Experts predict a cloudy atmosphere to persist in the city until the weekend raising concerns about potential disruptions if the heavy rain continues. Authorities are urging residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions during this period. Several software techies took Metro services to reach ITPL and Whitefield.

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected for the next three days in various parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru City, Bengaluru Rural, Mandya, Mysore, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Ramnagar, Hassan, Chamarajanagar, and Kodagu. Coastal districts such as Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Uttara Kannada are also likely to experience heavy showers with thunderstorms predicted in these areas.

The IMD has announced an 'orange alert' for October 17 signaling the possibility of more intense rainfall.

The Southwest Monsoon remains active over South Interior Karnataka, with normal rainfall over Coastal Karnataka and weaker conditions in North Interior Karnataka. Coastal areas, including Udupi and Dakshina Kannada, experienced significant downpours, while moderate rainfall is expected in Uttara Kannada.
