Awadhesh Prasad Says Didn't Get Invite For Ayodhya Deepotsav, Says 'BJP Politicising Festival'
Ayodhya is set to witness a grand Deepotsav for the first time after the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in January this year.
Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad on Wednesday claimed that he has not received an invitation for the Deepotsav celebrations. The temple city is set to witness a grand Deepotsav for the first time after the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in January this year.
The Ayodhya MP said that though he has not received any invitation, he will be going to his constituency and added that the festival doesn't belong to any one community.

"I extend my greetings to all residents of Ayodhya on the occasion of Diwali. I consider it my good fortune that I was elected from here. BJP is politicising our festivals too. I hope this will be a festival of brotherhood. BJP is politicising this festival and dividing people. I have not received a pass or invitation to Deepotsav. This festival doesn't belong to any one community. I will be going to Ayodhya today. I have not got any pass or invitation for Deepotsav," Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad said.
The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday created a new world record by lighting over 25 lakh diyas along the banks of the Saryu River on Wednesday evening. Officials said that an order for the diyas was placed with the local artisans.
The UP government had made arrangements to host around 5,000 to 6,000 people at the ghats in Ayodhya. Forty jumbo LED screens have been set up to beam the event live. The Deepotsav will feature performances by artists from Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Indonesia and a staging of Ram Lila from Uttarakhand.
