Aligarh Cop Attempts To End Life Over Harassment By Judge, Rescued From Railway Track: On Cam

Police personnel arrived at the spot as soon as they received information about the incident. They consoled the sub-inspector and brought him back safely to the police station.

Aligarh: A sub-inspector posted at the Banna Devi police station in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district was saved by vigilant police officers, who rescued him from a railway track where he had gone to end his life. The sub-inspector, Sachin Kumar, was upset with the alleged harassment by a magistrate, following which he attempted to die by suicide by lying down on a railway track.

However, Sachin Kumar was saved after police personnel from the police station reached the spot as soon as they got to know about the incident. They consoled him and brought him back safely to the station. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the policemen can be seen approaching the sub-inspector while he was sitting on the tracks. They lift him and try to pacify him. One of the cop can be heard saying, "What happened? It's okay. Stand up." To this, Kumar responded, "No sir, I don’t want to listen to anything."

Kumar then reveals about the misbehaviour by a Judge Abhishek Tripathi and narrates the incident that drove him to take this step. He told the policemen that he had gone to present five accused of a bike thief gang before the Magistrate. However, he misbehaved with him. Kumar claimed that he was repeatedly summoned every ten minutes by the Magistrate to his chamber, where he was threatened and verbally abused.

The sub-inspector said he was made to wait with the thieves from 5 PM to 10 PM. Kumar said that the magistrate believed that these bike thieves were caught using illegal means and that he had detained innocent people. Upset with this, he attempted to take his own life and went to the railway tracks.

When the police personnel try to persuade him to come along with them, Kumar insists on not staying back. "I don't want to go sir. I was tortured so much. Please go," he can be heard saying in the purported video. However, they managed to convince him to leave the tracks and took him along with them.

There has not been any response from the Magistrate as of now. The police are investigating the incident to address Kumar's concerns and ascertain what had actually happened.
