PDA Communities Targeted In UP, Says Akhilesh; CM Yogi Fires Back

Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the recent attack by the Karni Sena at SP MP Ramji Lal Suman was nota sudden assault but was executed as part of a conspiracy.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday alleged that the attack at MP Ramji Lal Suman's house in Agra was carried out as part of a well-planned conspiracy to instill fear in the PDA communities. He even alleged that the attack was "government funded" and that the "Yogi Sena" was paid to create the tense atmosphere.

Following Yadav's remarks, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath slammed the Samajwadi Party and its leaders for attempting to start a new caste-based conflict in the state.

"There is government funding behind all of this. From time to time, we have been insulted. The attack on Suman Ji’s house was not sudden—it was a well-planned and carefully executed assault. Under Yogi Ji’s watch, along with some of his close advisors and a fellow-caste MLA from Rajasthan, an independent MLA was housed in a luxury hotel. Certain disruptive elements and the Yogi Sena were funded to create this atmosphere," Yadav said, after meeting Suman and his family today.

He further alleged: "The goal was to convey to the central government that the Rajput community stands with Yogi and is securing his position—and to instill fear in the PDA (Progressive Democratic Alliance) community."

Yadav also said that innocent people were being exploited and "used like puppets," with someone pulling their strings in Delhi and Lucknow.

"The series of events that took place, where swords were brandished in Agra, and guns and sticks waved. I’ve heard they had permission for a peaceful protest…
But people crossed multiple police stations and attacked. It was a deliberate attempt to take lives," he alleged.

"The one who was told to kill me is being portrayed as a simple, innocent person.
Innocent people are being used like puppets—they don’t even know whose hands hold their strings—someone in Lucknow or someone in Delhi," the former UP CM added.

Yogi Slams Congress, SP For 'Creating Caste-Based Conflict'

Amid the ongoing row over the attack, Yogi Adityanath slammed the INDIA bloc, specifically mentioning the Congress and the SP for insulting Maharana Sangha and glorifyng Babur.

"As long as India's ancestors are respected, no one can halt the nation's development. Those misleading people in the INDI Alliance used to speak ill of BJP and PM Modi." he said. "Today, SP and Congress are attempting to initiate a new caste-based conflict in the country and the state."

Karni Sena had vandalised and pelted stones at SP MP Suman's house in Agra after he termed Rana Sangha a "traitor" who "invited Babar to India". Protesters had reached Suman's house in Agra with bulldozers, but the police prevented the situation from further escalation.

"This is an attack on Dalit community and the entire PDA. Had Ramji Lal Suman not been a Dalit, would these attacks have taken place," SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav had said.
