Ajmer: 1 Killed, 2 Injured During Clash Between 2 Groups Due To Land Dispute, JCB Set On Fire

Ajmer News: A man was killed, and two others was injured following an alleged firing during a clash between two groups in the Rupangarh area of Ajmer district, Rajasthan, on Sunday. The altercation was reportedly triggered by a dispute over the construction of a shop, leading to a violent confrontation between the two factions.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Ajmer Rural) Deepak Kumar confirmed that the dispute took place as both groups allegedly attacked each other with sticks and rods, news agency PTI reported. The confrontation turned fatal when one group opened fire, resulting in the death of a young man, Shakeel Langa. "During the clash, some vehicles were vandalised, and a JCB machine was set on fire," Kumar added.

One of the two persons injured in the incident is identified as Narayan Kumawat. He has been referred to a hospital in Ajmer for treatment.

Ajmer Clash: One Accused Nabbed As Police Launch Manhunt

Inspector-general of Police (IG) Ajmer, Omprakash Meghwal, told news agency ANI, "There was a land dispute between two parties. During a fight between them, there was a firing in which one person died, and two were injured. Four vehicles were impounded in this incident. The situation is peaceful in the area. One person has been rounded up."

According to India Today, one group opposed the construction, alleging that the sarpanch had wrongfully leased the land, despite the landowner, reported to be Jain Samaj, distancing itself from the matter. The confrontation quickly escalated into violence.

Additional security forces have been deployed to maintain law and order in the area, and police have nabbed an accused as a manhunt is launched to apprehend the individuals involved in the clash.
