Close Shave For DMK MP A Raja As Stage Light Crashes On His Mic During Event: VIDEO
The event was organized by the DMK to celebrate Chief Minister MK Stalin's birthday and the party's legal victory in the Governor issue.

DMK MP A Raja had a close shave on Sunday after a stage light installed near the dias from where he spoke collapsed on his microphone during an event in Tamil Nadu's Mayiladuthurai.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
The event was organised by the Dravida Munnetra Kazagham (DMK) to celebrate Chief Minister MK Stalin's birthday and the party's legal victory in the Governor issue, according to a report by the New Indian Express.
However, the matter took a dramatic turn when the heavy stage light mounted on a steel rod toppled due to strong winds while Raja was delivering a speech.

In the video, Raja is seen promptly running away as the metal frame crashes on the podium, followed by a commotion on and off the stage.
After the incident, Raja and other party leaders quickly left the stage and the venue was soon deserted as heavy rain battered the area, tearing banners and scattering chairs.
The worsening weather forced the crowd to disperse bringing the event to an abrupt end. The meeting was led by district secretary and legislator Nivedha Murugan and was attended by senior DMK leaders including Minister for Backward Classes Welfare, Siva Meyyanathan.
