Zomato on Friday issued clarifications regarding the pay structure of delivery partners. The food delivery giant addressed a viral video wherein a delivery partner claimed that he earned only Rs 300 after working on Diwali.
The video, shared on Instagram, showed delivery agent, Ritik Tomar, sharing his evening shift from 5 pm to 11 pm in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh on Diwali. He shared how he delivered eight orders in the night and earned Rs 316 from his shift.
The video garnered a lot of attention and users appreciated Tomar for his dedication. Many called out the need for better support for delivery executives during festive times.

The company in a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, said that the claims were ‘inaccurate and disturbing’ and assured that they prioritise competitive earnings for their workers, specifically during the festive period.
“The said delivery partner worked for 6hrs on 30th Oct (he did not login on the day of Diwali, as mentioned in the news articles) He delivered 10 orders and cumulatively earned ₹695 On the same day, a lot of delivery partners who devoted an average 10 hours in Meerut, cumulatively earned in the range of ₹1200 - ₹1300,” the company explained.
