Ritesh Agarwal Says Over 10 Lakh Travellers Opted For OYO Rooms On NYE, Shirdi, Ajmer Become Popular Destinations

OYO CEO Ritesh Agarwal on Tuesday shared how well the start of the New Year went for his company. The entrepreneur said on social media that over 10 lakh people used OYO to book rooms for New Year’s Eve.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Agarwal said, “The New Year is off to an incredible start, with over 1.1 million travellers staying with us worldwide this NYE—marking a remarkable 58% increase from 2023, with the addition of Motel 6 and Studio 6 to our family.”

In a different post, the entrepreneur shared the progress his company has made and how the customers are vying for taking their services. “Tonight, We would have over a 1000 guests around the world who would be spending over a lakh tonight in our premium hotels and homes like Sunday hotels, Luxury holiday homes like Dancenter in Goa, UAE and so much more.,” the post read.

Agarwal also shared details about the performance of the company domestically in different cities on New Year's Eve. His post read, "Shirdi sees 940% rise in bookings this NY. Ajmer comes close second, sees 761% surge in bookings vs last NY. Banaras (Varanasi) becomes the most popular spiritual travel destination with 12,841 bookings this NY with Ayodhya being the new entrant to top charts this year. Based on the strong booking trends, we expect Ayodhya to top the charts in Jan in the run up to the Pran Pratishtha anniversary."
The updates went viral on social media and many users appreciated the journey of OYO. An individual commented, “If/when Ola's stock price reaches 55-60, I'll buy. This will purely be a bet on the founder. He's been building since 2010 when startups were non-existent and the VC ecosystem was tiny. His speed in launching Ola Electric was unmatched. Built a large ass factory during the pandemic.”
