Made In India Products Will One Day Command Global Premium: Rajnath Singh

Singh stressed that a strong synergy between the government and industry, built on shared values and a common vision, will be crucial in realizing the goal of making India a global powerhouse

Union Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday that he is confident that Indian-made products will one day command a global premium, much like those from Japan once did. Singh said this during his address at the inaugural plenary of CII Annual Business Summit-2025. He stressed that a strong synergy between the government and industry, built on shared values and a common vision, will be crucial in realizing the goal of making India a global powerhouse.

“I feel happy to witness your dedication. I extend my congratulations to you on India becoming the world’s 4th largest economy. India was the fifth-largest economy when I attended this event earlier. I hope that when I come here again then I will bring some more good news. I believe that you all will make that happen," he said.

Singh further added that today, an atmosphere of uncertainty is visible in the whole world. "There are conflicts going on everywhere. Although there can be many reasons for this, but the root cause of today's international uncertainty is lack of trust. On the contrary, if we look at our country, our effort has been to create a strong atmosphere of trust between different regions, communities and economic sectors within the country. We have achieved unprecedented success through these efforts," Singh noted.

India’s Fifth-Generation Fighter Jet Program

Defence Minister also hailed India’s fifth-generation fighter jet program as a major milestone for the ‘Make in India’ initiative, highlighting its significance in strengthening the country's defense capabilities and technological self-reliance. Speaking at a public forum, he noted that India’s recent actions on the global stage have reflected both strength and restraint. Referring to the recently approved AMCA (Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft) project, Singh noted that it will involve the development of five prototypes followed by series production, with active participation from the private sector.

Comments On Pakistan

Speaking about Pakistan, He said, “Pakistan may have to pay a heavy price for running the business of terrorism. There will be talks with Pakistan only about terrorism and nothing else. People living in POK are our own people. They are just being misled. POK is a part of us and I believe that one day POK itself will say that it is a part of India.”
