India Energy Week (IEW) 2025 wrapped up its second day with a series of insightful and engaging sessions on Wednesday at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, Delhi. The event was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. Just like day 1, day 2 also saw the participation of eminent industry leaders from across the globe.

Here Are Some Important Things That Happened On Day 2 Of India Energy Week:

Hardeep Singh Puri Met Petrobras CEO

Hardeep Singh Puri, India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, attended the second day of India Energy Week 2025 as well. During the event in Delhi, Puri met with Magda Chambriard, the CEO of the Brazilian energy giant Petrobras. Providing an update on their meeting, Puri shared on X (formerly Twitter), “Happy to meet Ms Magda Chambriard, CEO of Brazilian energy major @petrobras at #IndiaEnergyWeek2025 in New Delhi.”

Contract Between BPCL And Petrobras

A term contract was signed between Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) and Brazil's Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) for the supply of Brazilian crude oil grades to BPCL during the event. This agreement represents a major advancement in enhancing energy security and diversifying crude sourcing strategies for Indian energy companies.

The contract, initially set for one year with an option for a one-year extension, guarantees a reliable supply of Brazilian crude to BPCL’s refineries. It further solidifies the longstanding partnership between the two companies and strengthens energy cooperation between India and Brazil.

TotalEnergies And GSPC Join Hands

TotalEnergies and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited (GSPC), a state-owned oil and gas company, announced the signing of a ten-year Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA), set to begin in 2026 during India Energy Week. As part of the agreement, TotalEnergies will supply GSPC with 400,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG), equivalent to six cargoes per year.

The LNG, sourced from TotalEnergies' global portfolio and delivered to terminals on India's west coast, will primarily cater to GSPC’s industrial clients. It will also be used to supply Indian households, businesses, and service stations for vehicles running on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), such as auto-rickshaws, companies said in an official statement.

ONGC Partnered With Tata Power Renewable Energy

At India Energy Week 2025, ONGC announced a strategic partnership with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) through a signed MoU to collaborate on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

This collaboration will focus on advancing utility-scale energy storage for grid reliability, enabling renewable energy integration for a greener future, enhancing EV charging infrastructure for sustainable mobility, and providing microgrid and backup power solutions to bolster energy resilience. With India aiming to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, this partnership underscores ONGC’s commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future, the firm said in a statement.
