Forbes World’s Billionaires List: Forbes World’s Billionaires List: Mukesh Ambani has dethroned Jack Maa as Asia's richest tycoon and has also made it to the top 10 of the list of the world's wealthiest.

New Delhi: Forbes has once again come out with its much-talked-about list of the world's wealthiest billionaires as it released the 35th annual list on Tuesday.

"Forbes’ 35th annual list of the world’s wealthiest exploded to an unprecedented 2,755—660 more than a year ago. Altogether they are worth $13.1 trillion, up from $8 trillion on the 2020 list," the report reads.

According to the latest Forbes report, there are a record high 493 newcomers to the list of wealthiest billionaires this year, which constitutes roughly one new billionaire every 17 hours, including 210 from China and Hong Kong and 98 from the U.S. 

India has been reported to have the third-highest number of billionaires, with 140. Meanwhile, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has been ranked Number 10 in the list with Net Worth estimated at $84.5 billion. The richest person in Asia has surpassed China's Jack Ma who was Asia’s richest person a year ago, whose rank dropped to No. 26 (from No. 17 last year) despite a nearly $10 billion jump in his fortune to $48.4 billion.

The U.S. continues to have more billionaires than any other country, with 724 worth (up from 614 last year). China is coming to a close second with 698 (including 71 from Hong Kong and 1 from Macao). Last year the U.S. had 614 billionaires and China had 456 (including 66 from Hong Kong and 1 Macao). China has advanced remarkably making Beijing the home to more billionaires than anywhere in the world, overtaking New York City. As previously stated, India has the third-highest number of billionaires with 140.
