What’s the focus of Delhi Budget 2022-23?

The work on the Delhi Budget 2022-23 already began by the end of January and as per deputy chief minister and finance minister Manish Sisodia, this terms' Budget will be special and will foster the economic growth of the national capital.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia last week stated that the Budget for the 2022-23 financial year will offer a roadmap to the capital's economic progress with a special focus on creating employment opportunities.

The decision has been taken after the Delhi government received suggestions from Delhiites for the upcoming budget.

Some of the suggestions include the creation of a new Special Economic Zone (SEZ), developing the city as an IT hub, and including unskilled workers. In the suggestions, people asked for SEZ tie-ups with government and private universities to ensure a sufficiently skilled and learned workforce in the industry. The Delhi Budget 2022-23 is likely to be presented at the end of March.

The roadmap for Delhi's economic progress and employment opportunities will be created as per the suggestions of traders and young residents of the state, stated Manish Sisodia. Due to demonetisation and the pandemic, the economy of Delhi has slowed down. Due to the prolonged lockdown, the business has been severely impacted.
