Cryptocurrency Price Today: Bitcoin Dips Below $23,000, Ethereum Holds Steady
Cryptocurrency price on August 19 quick take: The global crypto market stood at $1.08 trillion on Friday morning.
Bitcoin (BTC), the world’s oldest and most valued cryptocurrency, dipped below the $23,000 mark after remaining above the level over the past few days. Ethereum (ETH), the second-most valued crypto, managed to remain stable as its expected September Merge looms on the horizon. Other popular altcoins, including the likes of Dogecoin (DOGE), Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), and Litecoin (LTC) landed in the red across the board. Among lesser-known coins, Gnosis (GNO) emerged as the biggest gainer in the last 24 hours, as the Oasis Network (ROSE) token turned out to be the biggest loser.
At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap stood at $1.08 trillion as per CoinMarketCap data, registering a 24-hour gain of 1.53 percent.
Bitcoin (BTC) price today
BTC was priced at $22,793.25 at the time of writing. As per CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin saw a 24-hour dip of 2.79 percent. As per Indian exchange WazirX, BTC price stood at Rs 19.05 lakhs.
Ethereum (ETH) price today
ETH price stood at $1,818.75, marking a 24-hour loss of 1.70 percent at the time of writing. As per WazirX, Ethereum price in India stood at Rs 1.52 lakhs.
Dogecoin (DOGE) price today
DOGE registered a 24-hour dip of 9.63 percent as per CoinMarketCap data, currently priced at $0.07387. As per WazirX, Dogecoin price in India stood at Rs 6.10.
Litecoin (LTC) price today
Litecoin saw a 24-hour dip of 3.40 percent. At the time of writing, it was priced at $58.69. LTC price in India stood at Rs 4,852.
Ripple (XRP) price today
XRP price stood at $0.3603, seeing a 24-hour loss of 3.56 percent. As per WazirX, Ripple price stood at Rs 29.83.
Solana (SOL) price today
Solana price stood at $38.24, marking a 24-hour dip of 6.30 percent. As per WazirX, SOL price in India stood at Rs 3,205.

The day saw mixed reactions for generally all categories and no pattern could be recognized except that the meme coins like Dogecoin and Shiba Inu lost up to 6 percent, and privacy coins lost up to 4 percent over the day”
