A new program has been unveiled by the finance minister for farmers and the agricultural industry. The new plan will be a collaboration with the states. This plan will cover one hundred districts. According to Finance Minister, 1.7 crore farmers will profit. There is an intention to collaborate with the SNAPPY 1 initiative to encompass 100 districts with low agricultural productivity if necessary. In order to prevent migration, the program aims to develop possibilities in rural areas.
Big Boost For Farmers
The Dhanya Dhanya Krishi Yojana is a new program that prioritizes women and youth. In order to allow them to work while remaining close to their residences. The scheme stressing the need to increase tur, urad, and masoor dal output. To ensure that farmers will be paid for their products, the central government will begin the crop procurement process. For this reason, the government has implemented a vigorous plan to buy pulses such as urad, masoor, and tur (arhar). Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) and Price Support Scheme (PSS) will be used for this. Farmers would not have to sell their crops at poor rates because the government has pledged to purchase all urad, arhar, and masoor pulses.
Farmers will be able to raise the amount of pulses they grow and receive the correct price as a result. By boosting the nation's pulse production, the government hopes to achieve self-sufficiency.
Sitharaman announced that the Kisan Credit Card's lending ceiling would be raised from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. According to her, loans for 7.07 farmers have been made possible by the Kisan Credit Card. When presenting the Union Budget 2025–2026, Finance Minister also announced the commencement of a comprehensive initiative to increase the production of fruits and vegetables and provide them at competitive prices.
