From Petrol, Diesel Rates To Change In Jet Fuel Price. Know Major Changes Ahead Of Budget
ATF price witnessed a steep hike of 8.5 per cent on Tuesday for third time in a month to record levels across the country
New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices didn’t witness any change on Tuesday ahead of the finance minister unveiling the Union Budget for FY 2022-23 at 11 AM. The prices were unchanged for the 88th day, the longest ever period, according to a price notification by state-owned fuel retailers. The prices sustained at the same level with the government slashing excise duty on November 4, 2021.

The duty on petrol was slashed by Rs 5 per litre and diesel witnessed a decline by Rs 10 a litre impacting reduction in retail pump rates. Following this cut, many states and Union territories also went ahead to reduce local sales or value-added tax (VAT) to offer more relief to consumers.
In Delhi, one has to shell out Rs 95.41 a litre for petrol and spent Rs 86.67 a litre for diesel. While the petrol prices in the financial city Mumbai, the price of petrol remained at Rs 109.98 and diesel at Rs 94.14 per litre.
In Kolkata, petrol and diesel will cost you Rs 104.67 and Rs 89.79 per litre respectively. Chennai retailed a litre of petrol at Rs 101.40 and diesel at Rs 91.43 per litre.
Meanwhile, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) price witnessed a steep hike of 8.5 per cent on Tuesday to record levels across the country, according to oil company price notification.
ATF price was hiked by Rs 6,743.25 per kilolitre or 8.5 per cent to Rs 86,038.16 per kl in the national capital, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers, as per PTI report.
This is the highest ever price touched by ATF. The rate is higher than Rs 71,028.26 per kl reached in August 2008 when international crude oil prices touched $147 per barrel. Brent crude oil on Tuesday was trading at $91.21 per barrel.

On the other hand, there is some relief for the common man as the oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Tuesday didn’t change the prices of the liquified petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder.
The relief comes ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in five states, and at a time when the prices of crude oil are skyrocketing at the international level.The rate of non-subsidised (14.2 kg) Indane domestic cylinder in Delhi is Rs 899.50 while in Kolkata a domestic LPG cylinder of 14.2 kg will cost Rs926. In Mumbai, the price of a non-subsidised LPG cylinder will be the same as Delhi, while in Chennai it will cost Rs915.50.
The prices of non-subsidised domestic LPG cylinders sustained at the same level since October.

The assembly elections are being held in five states including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand. Voting will be held from February 10 to March 7 and the results will be out on March 10.
